Incas, Aztecs, & Mayas was my very first cover design for a book cover for Bellerophon Books, an educational book publishing company. There were a lot of challenges like, making sure the colors print correctly. To work for this company, using and installing color correction software was really important. Lately marketers have been asking about QR codes. If you print a QR code on a cover will readers bite? Right now, I believe QR codes seem to be a fading trend.
