Minecraft skin request for Maetael from planetminecraft.
This is a skin request for Maetael from Galaxy Express 999 to be used in Minecraft. Minecraft is a sandbox indie game that was released in 2009 as an alpha version. The full version was finally finished in 2011. Galaxy Express 999 is a manga written and drawn by Leiji Matsumoto, as well as various anime films and TV series based on it. It is set in a space-faring, high-tech future in which humans have learned how to transfer their minds (but not their emotions) into mechanical bodies, thus achieving practical immortality.
I created Maetael with SkinEdit that uses a real-time 3D model and Adobe CS6. The most challenging issue for me was taking a drawing and turning it into a game character. Minecraft skins have huge limitations in that there are restrictions in game design. You are working within the parameters of the Minecraft engine and a character template. If a character that you were trying to render had ears, or an armor piece only on one shoulder, you can’t just add ears into the design.
